HISTORY Whilst Foden is perhaps best known for its heavy-haulage lorries, the company did build bus and coach chassis.  One such example is this 1951 vehicle, which has a rear-fitted Foden 4 litre 2 stoke diesel engine.  The bodywork was built by Plaxton of Scarborough to their Venturer design.  Foden were also nationally famous for their works band, and this coach was used to transport the band to various venues until the vehicle was replaced in 1979.  It was then laid up at the Foden factory until it was bought by an enthusiast who stored it under cover until the present owner bought it and made a full restoration.
