HISTORY

RML 2456 was one of 524 Routemasters that were 30 feet long (the basic RM is 27' 6" long).  The extra length is evident from the additional square window in the middle of both decks, accommodating 4 extra double seats.  This vehicle entered service at Harlow garage for the LT country area in 1966.  In 1970 she was transferred to the newly formed London Country Bus Company, and in 1972 was moved to Stains.  In 1978 she was repainted in the NBC leaf green livery, but the next year was repurchased by LT, painted red and allocated to Hanwell garage.  In 1990 a Cummins engine was fitted, and in 1994 she transferred to the privatised Stagecoach company, operating route 15, then route 8 out of Bow in 2003-4.  Bought by current owners in 2004 and restored to NBC leaf green livery.

Special blinds are in use for the local rally services.
