HISTORY | This bus first went into service in 1963 at Cricklewood garage. in 1977 the bus was painted silver to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee, and was renumbered SRM 3. It returned to red livery at the end of that year, continuing in service until 1986. The vehicle then spent time in Blackpool and Reading (from 1997). In 2000 she was re-purchased for London service work and in 2002 the bus was coloured gold for the Queen's Golden Jubilee, using vinyl panels. At the end of that year she returned to red livery, but was repainted silver in 2004 for the 50th anniversary of the Routemaster, and was reallocated the SRM 3 fleet number. Since then she has been used in London for various special bus events, and is now owned by the First Group as a show bus. |
