HISTORY | This vehicle entered service for London General at Nunhead Garage on route 621. In the early 1930s, the vehicle was operating in north London, and was converted to front entrance. In 1950 she was fitted with a diesel engine and returned to work in south London. Withdrawn in June 1956, she was the last former LGOC vehicle to be operated by London Transport. She was purchased by a private group for £45 and is thought to be the first bus to be privately preserved. The vehicle was completely rebuilt, with the original rear entrance and petrol engine reinstated. Restoration was completed in 1979 and was acquired by the bus museum in 1994. |
